The youth work in Pliening was long asleep.

Now she is awakening again: youth speakers will be elected on Friday.

And the youth room opens again.

Pliening - The Förderverein Jugendraum Pliening was revived before the summer holidays and has repositioned itself with a management trio consisting of adults.

Now those who are at stake should join: the young people.

On this Friday, September 17th (start: 7.30 p.m.), a by-election for the development association will take place in the youth room in the basement of the community center (entrance on the back): “Two youth representatives should be elected to the board and in future be the voice of the youth "Announced Tina Lucka (1st chairman) and René Buchmann (2nd chairman).

Third mayor Brigitte Freund (Bündnis90 / Die Grünen) completes the association's board as treasurer.

Pliening: reopening planned for autumn

Young people from all parts of Pliening are invited to vote for their youth speakers.

Registration is not required.

At the event, the participants can contribute ideas and suggestions about how the youth room should look in the future and which offers are desired.

The reopening is planned for the autumn, announces the board of directors.

In July 2017, operations in the youth room were discontinued due to a lack of demand; it was used for a short time as a shelter for the homeless - now the proverbial shack is supposed to bring young people back to life.

Support association brought back to life

The friends' association has not been active since 2016. In June of this year, the new start took place on the initiative of the local council's children's and youth officer, Tina Lucka (Greens), and the CSU parliamentary group leader René Buchmann. Nine members, one non-member and five young people came to re-elect the board. In advance, Lucka, Buchmann and Freund had revised the statutes together with Markus Uffinger (who is also a member of the municipal council for the initiative for Pliening and who has many years of club experience). The board of directors formulated the first goal in June: the reopening of the youth room. This should now take place together with young people - the starting signal for this is the meeting this Friday evening.
