Some popular holiday islands in Greece are no longer corona high-risk areas since Sunday.

This makes it easier for travelers to return to Germany.

In addition to a vacation in the Balearic or Canary Islands, many Germans are also flirting with a vacation in Greece this year.

The islands in particular are regularly in high demand - if it weren't for the high numbers of corona infections that the country has had to contend with in the meantime.

Mainly on the islands.

Now the situation on site has calmed down again, so that the federal government has lifted its classification of the islands as corona high-risk areas.

This is accompanied by simplified rules for those returning to travel.

On Sunday (September 12), the federal government

removed

both

Crete

and the

southern Aegean

from the list of high-risk areas.

These include

popular travel destinations such as Rhodes, Kos, Mykonos or Naxos

.

Greece has thus been completely removed from the list of risk areas.

For vacationers, this means, above all, a relief when they return home.

With immediate effect, unvaccinated or unrecognized travelers no longer have to go into quarantine after arriving in Germany.

Only the

3-G rule

still

applies

- i.e. the submission of proof of vaccination or recovery or a negative test result.

A rapid antigen test must not be older than 48 hours, while the PCR test must not be older than 72 hours.
