The container ship Chevy has successfully piloted smart navigation in a marine area of Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province.
The Chinese news agency Xinhua reported that the Chevy ship is a cargo ship used for the purpose of trade with a length of 110 meters and a width of 15 meters. It also has the ability to intelligent navigation, which was developed in China, with a designed speed of 12 nautical miles per hour.
The agency indicated that the Chevy ship is equipped with an autonomous navigation system that allows it to operate in driver-driven modes, remote-controlled driving and unmanned navigation, and it can coordinate with production, navigation, maritime and safety authorities on land.
