On an agricultural area in the outer area west of Mörlbach, a large agricultural operation is to be built with operations manager, employee and holiday apartments, farm shop, machine hall, mobile silo, cattle stable, manure store, wood chip hall, mining hall and manure pits.
The owner of the area is Evi Brandl from the butcher shop Vinzenzmurr.
According to the manager of the Wadlhausen estate administration, Raimund Niedermeier, she wants to breed Wagyu cattle there.
The municipal council rejected all requests.

The dimensions of the planned buildings are enormous, as the local councils have found time and again. It also became clear that there is a communication problem between the applicant and the municipality. And the people of Mörlbach are afraid that a huge farm will be put in front of them. Even before the applications for the planned new property were received in the town hall, Mayor Rupert Steigenberger had worried Mörlbacher on the phone. All council members now share these concerns.
The plans for the meadow on the left at the western entrance to Mörlbach are undoubtedly gigantic.
With the sixth application, the one for the cattle barn, Robert Schmid (CSU) lost his composure: “These are brutal seals, we're not talking about square meters, but hectares.” It's not that bad, but added up it's about more than 4700 square meters of sealed area.
"I can understand your shock," said the mayor.
"The people of Mörlbach are very appalled."

The municipal council was able to reject the project very easily - with the blessing of the district building authority: All applications related to the outdoor area, which can only be built on with agricultural privileges. The farmer willingly gives information on the phone and also admits that perhaps one should have informed more in advance.
It is planned to raise cattle for 65 high-quality Wagyu cattle and their offspring.
“71 pieces are ready for slaughter every year,” says one concept.
He defends the stable size of 1729 square meters with animal welfare.
"Everyone has their eating place and their place to lie, these are criteria that must now be met." The meat is extremely high quality and correspondingly expensive, which is why a farm shop is necessary.

Wagyu cattle come from Japan, and their meat is considered extremely tender and delicate.
For a kilo from Germany you currently have to pay a three-digit euro amount, for Wagyu from Japan the prices are up to 600 euros per kilo.
“It's not for everyone,” says Niedermeier.
"But the clientele is there at Lake Starnberg."
It was also unclear to the local council and in the town hall why another farm should be built less than two kilometers from Gut Wadlhausen. Niedermeier refers to the pastures around the more than 270,000 square meter area in Mörlbach. “We have a lot of grassland and we want to recycle it.” That is difficult at the moment. “The second, third and fourth cut also no longer fit into the biogas plant.” There is only one biogas plant on the estate in Wadlhausen; according to Niedermeier, there is no longer any livestock farming there.
The farmer emphasizes that the location that has now been chosen is ideal, thereby answering another question from the local council.
Namely, whether you couldn't find a better, less exposed location.
"For us the problem is: This is an agricultural business on a scale that we have never had before," says Mayor Steigenberger when asked.
"I don't want to demonize everything, but it has to be tolerable."
