Alling - A 37-year-old Audi driver from Gilching drove down Gilchinger Strasse towards Gilching at around 8.30 p.m. on Thursday, September 16.
"For reasons that are still unexplained, she came off the road to the right in town, hit a tree with her right side of the vehicle at the level of the right front wheel, was thrown back onto the road and came to a stop there after turning almost 360 degrees," explains Police chief inspector Klaus Hofmeister.
"The driver was alone in the vehicle and was lucky that she didn't hit the tree head-on."
The accident was observed by a witness who was driving behind the Audi.
The witness immediately rushed to help, helped the casualty to get out, made the emergency call and stayed with the Gilching woman until the police and ambulance arrived.
The airbags in the 37-year-old's vehicle prevented her from being seriously injured.
She was taken to hospital with a few wounds and a whiplash that had to be taken.
On the go with just under 1.9 per mille
"The main cause of the accident was probably that the accident victim was on the road with just under 1.9 per mille of alcohol," continues Hofmeister.
“As a result, she has to answer criminally for endangering road traffic.
She had to endure the taking of a blood sample and the securing of her driver's license. "
Damage to her vehicle was estimated at 25,000 euros.
With damage to the bumper, fender, broken rim and wheel suspension, the obvious damage meant that the vehicle was no longer ready to drive and had to be towed away.
The scene of the accident had to be temporarily closed to the rest of the traffic, and there were disabilities for about two hours in total.
The bark of the tree was torn off at the point of contact up to a height of about 60 cm, with appropriate care it will survive it.
