It was expensive, but it was worth the effort: The Seefeld Cultural Association spent around 15,000 euros on improving the acoustics in the brewhouse at Schloss Seefeld - supported by sponsors. As reported, the Seefelder Kulturverein starts the new season with a jazz concert this Sunday, September 19th. On the sidelines of a press conference, the board also presented the acoustic measures.

Seefeld

- Four bass traps and bass absorbers, sound-absorbing curtains, a semi-transparent curtain on the chandelier and finally nine large and medium-sized acoustic pictures on the side walls - the brewhouse, which has been used as an event hall since the association was founded in 1985, has changed its appearance. The ambience of the approximately 150 square meter vault was always beautiful and noble, but unfortunately the acoustics were a challenge. Until now.

Dr. Harald Müller, who has been a member of the association's board of directors and an engineer since 2019, has dealt with the matter, carried out sound studies and initiated a room acoustics project that can be seen or heard. He went into detail. Just one example: For concert halls like the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, a reverberation time of two seconds is aimed for, for rooms like the brewhouse it should be well under one second. In some cases, however, it was well over two seconds, as Müller found out with his own measurements.

Now Müller and the entire management team are completely enthusiastic. The acoustics were given the finishing touches with the large photos taken by Müller at concerts in the brewhouse and stretched on a deep frame with sound-absorbing material. That looks nice too. Dr. Brigitte Altenberger, deputy chairwoman of the board, is not so sure how the new look of the hall will be received. “We're not the only ones here.” But no one has complained so far, on the contrary. “We have received very positive feedback. Everyone immediately noticed the change in the acoustics, ”says Müller.

Tickets for the next season are available on the website www.kultur-schloss-seefeld.de or at z (0 81 52) 3 05 69 22. There will also be a payment system on the website in the near future.

In times of Corona, you cannot afford reservations that are then not used, according to the association.

According to the current infection protection guideline, the brewhouse will be seated normally and without any gaps.

3G applies for this, and surgical masks must be worn on site.

An annual general meeting with new elections is planned for Wednesday, September 29th.

It starts at 7 p.m. in the brewhouse.

Assessor Sabine Spielmann has left the board, Verena Nicolay is running for election.
