Food and Drug Administration (FDA) vaccine advisers rejected Pfizer's request to add a third booster dose of its coronavirus vaccine to the two-dose regimen. .
Members of the FDA's Advisory Committee on Vaccines and Related Biologicals rejected the request by 16 votes in favor and 2 against, but reserved the right to modify the question posed in a second round of voting.
The voting question was "Do the safety and efficacy data from clinical trial C4591001 support the approval of a booster dose of COMIRNATY given at least 6 months after completion of the primary series for use in persons 16 years of age or older? plus?".
