Meeting places for young people are rare in Miesbach. One searches regularly for suitable locations in the district town - mostly in vain. A solution is now emerging in Hausham.

Meeting places for young people are rare in Miesbach.

One searches regularly for suitable locations in the district town - mostly in vain.

A solution is now emerging in Hausham.

Miesbach / Hausham - It is not easy to establish leisure facilities for young people. In Miesbach's new development area Am Gschwendt - as reported - a football field is not permitted due to the lack of a prescribed distance, and in the newly designed Riviera a streetball facility with a view of the surrounding residential development has too much noise potential. The city has therefore asked the parliamentary groups in the city council to collect possible locations for youth leisure facilities. With success: 16 proposals were submitted. According to Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller (CSU), an initial evaluation has already been made. It should serve as a decision-making aid for the later decision-making in the city council.

The Miesbach Free Voting Association has opened up a 17th option.

As their local chairman and parliamentary group spokesman Markus Seemüller reports, the Hausham community also asked for a suitable area - with a positive response.

At the municipal boundary in Haidmühl, a skate facility would be conceivable in addition to the existing cycle path on a property owned by the municipality.

Seemüller is pleased: "A skate park for young people is finally in sight."

Zangenfeind open to community project - "The chemistry is very good"

Because Hausham's mayor Jens Zangenfeind (FWG) is very open to a community project. In the meantime, a discussion has already taken place at the administrative level between Miesbach and Hausham. According to Braunmiller, another possibility was also explored, to set up a joint facility in the border area of the two municipalities; an exam is currently in progress. Said alternative area is located under the B 472 bridge west of the embankment in the urban area and belongs to the federal government. Should there be more here, Zangenfeind could also imagine a cooperation with Miesbach: "The chemistry between us is very good."

Because Zangenfeind also knows the problem with the leisure facilities for young people only too well.

Hausham has also been looking for years - be it for skateboarders or basketball fans who would like to throw a few hoops.

The proximity to residential developments usually proves to be an insurmountable hurdle.

“But pushing young people into the farthest corner is also not the right thing to do,” says Zangenfeind.

Via Seemüller they have now come to the property on the so-called waterway, which is located east of the railway embankment and south of the B 472 near the ESB station and belongs to the municipality of Hausham.

"The place is on the way to school and would therefore be easily accessible."

Miesbach: The basketball court is to be opened - the effects are being discussed with residents

The only catch: It is in the Haushamer drinking water protection area. In 2014, this prevented a planned skate park under the B 472 bridge on Miesbacher Flur. But what makes Zangenfeind optimistic: The new option has already been developed in terms of routes, and an initial preliminary examination by the district administration and water management office had turned out to be positive "with moderate execution" of the system. However, Hausham's local council still has to agree.

One success is already certain in Miesbach: The basketball court at the middle school, which is currently only intended for school use, is to be opened to all young people. According to Braunmiller, there have been several discussions with youth officer Christian Mittermaier (CSU) and the residents. The result: From the end of September, the basketball court should also be available for children and young people outside school hours. "This opening is initially observed during a test phase," explains Braunmiller, "in order to discuss the effects with the residents." The opening times are Monday to Friday 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. The facility is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
