Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry has removed the country's Justice Minister Rockfeller Vincent and is replacing him with a new one today, after Vincent backed a prosecutor seeking charges against Henry. for the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse, as reported by the Prime Minister's office in a statement.
The prime minister on Tuesday ordered the firing of the country's chief prosecutor, Bed-Ford Claude, who was investigating Moïse's murder.
Claude had been seeking charges against Henry in connection with the assassination.
On Tuesday he also ordered that the prime minister be barred from leaving the country.
Moïse was brutally murdered during an attack on his private residence on July 7.
The ongoing investigation into his murder has revealed dozens of suspects, including US and Colombian citizens, but government officials continue to search for a mastermind and motive.
Last week, Port-au-Prince chief prosecutor Bed-Ford Claude called Henry to testify on the case, citing evidence that a key suspect in the murder called him in the hours after the murder.
