The mammoth project is becoming more and more concrete: In the building committee, the architects presented new figures for the redevelopment and expansion of the primary and secondary school on Hammerschmiedweg.
In March, the city council decided to make some changes - above all savings and a more environmentally friendly wood hybrid construction - to the multi-million project.

Ludwig Karl updated the cost estimate on Wednesday evening. The managing director of the “karlundp” office assumes total costs of 48.7 million euros. This includes: a risk buffer of around 4.4 million euros. He estimated the project costs to be around 44 million euros.
From a purely formal legal point of view, these figures are a cost estimate - and there are often large fluctuations. “This cost estimate was made in the depth of a calculation,” emphasized architect Thomas Wenig from the town hall's “Planning and Environment” department. BVW parliamentary group spokesman Josef Praller is still preparing for a sharp rise in costs: "By the time we finish the school in 2027, the construction cost index will have risen by 28 percent." In the past two years alone, this figure has risen by 9.5 percent. The now estimated 48 million euros are "the absolute lower limit of what we will pay," said Praller.

On Wednesday, the building committee set the next course for the continuation of the project: the cost estimate was unanimously approved, the mayor commissioned to initiate the next steps.
Because the committee is convinced of the measure itself.
It should be a really big hit.
