Insults, yelling, fighting and betrayal.
This is how the last hours of the bond between the highest political figures unfolded:
the relationship between Alberto Fernández and Cristina Kirchner is totally broken.
The vice president accuses Alberto of
"continually making shit."
And he blames him for the electoral defeat: “It was because of the disastrous management of his government.
They don't work, they are lazy
”.
This Thursday's letter makes these questions public and the fight intensifies at the highest level of power.

He issued an
ultimatum
to Alberto Fernández.
The President accuses Cristina of "unfair" and of
trying to stay with the Government.
And he counterattacks:
“Here we all lost.
Also Cristina, Kicillof and La Cámpora ”.
Alberto is upset:
"I'm not going to let myself be kicked by La Cámpora."
In private, both seem "The Pimpinela."
Wednesday night was traumatic.
Alberto repeated:
"I do not speak with traitors and disloyalists
.
"
Cristina replied:
"Don't even name Alberto."
Witnesses of those hurtful phrases - with irreproducible insults - were the
mediators
between the two.
Sergio Massa sought an agreement and even Aníbal Fernández got in the way.
Also some governors wanted to intervene without success.
The talks lasted several hours after midnight on Wednesday.
This Thursday they resumed very early in Olivos and they still continue.
There was a concrete proposal to find a way out of the crisis. The plan is to produce
a Cabinet change involving six ministers
. Three for each faction. It is about Alberto's three ministers and three officials who respond to La Cámpora and Cristina. The Instituto Patria requested the heads of
Sabina Frederic, Matías Kulfas and Santiago Cafiero
. The trio of campers targeted would be
Pedro's Wado, Luana Volnovich and Fernanda Raverta
, Maximo's boxes.
So far the issue has not advanced.
The President responded to that proposal with a strong version: that he had ejected Wado de Pedro from the Government.
Cristina and Máximo were surprised by Alberto's inflexibility.
They did not expect it, but the President
is intransigent because he feels that they want to wear it.
Alberto tries to return to his sources and his old unfulfilled promises: to displace La Cámpora from the Government and
strengthen his bond with the governors and mayors.
About that he spoke yesterday in Olivos with
Sergio Uñac
.
He also received
Juan Manzur
and the head of La Matanza,
Fernando Espinoza
.
He asked the trio about a future Minister of the Interior with the support of the territorial chiefs.
It is playing hard and the irresponsible political fight
alters the economy
: stocks - again - plummeted and the dollar hit another record.
A greater tourniquet to the stocks prevented the BCRA from losing more reserves during these days.
Businessmen cannot believe how Cristina and Alberto deepened the crisis.
At the UIA, AEA and the banks
fear
- and say so -
that the problems are just beginning.
This Thursday there were investor meetings on Wall Street.
Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and UBS
issued documents with disturbing theories about Argentina.
They are versions that circulate locally.
Many argue that the offensive by Cristina and La Cámpora seeks a final objective: to
leave the Government
, to maintain the story against the IMF and avoid having to endorse the adjustments that are coming to try to get the economy back on track.
Other powerful ones also insist that the hard sector of "Christianity" seeks to push Alberto, to place in the Casa Rosada who really has the political power in space: Cristina herself.
The
delusional project
excites the hard-core of La Cámpora, but it has a limit: they say that the vice president is not willing to send it to Alberto and be accused of being a "coup leader."
Just in case, Alberto wants Sergio Massa to stay in Deputies:
so as not to hand over to La Cámpora the line of presidential succession
.
These versions circulated on Wednesday in the circles of power, after the kamikaze played by Wado de Pedro and the resigning officials.
That Machiavellian - and dangerous - move
occurred to Wado himself.
The Interior Minister
played unfairly
and made his resignation public to precipitate the political crisis and force Alberto to remove Santiago Cafiero and Martín Guzmán.
Juanchi Zabaleta accused him:
"You are a traitor."
The issue whitewashed the furious fights of recent months, which Alberto and Cristina covered only with hypocrisy.
The President can
not bear any more
than the vice makes him look like a “puppet” marking the court for him in public.
Neither - he says - is he willing to be permanently blackmailed by La Cámpora.
The issue exploded already on Sunday in the bunker of defeat.
Behind the scenes each had a place and they avoided crossing during the tragic night.
Alberto and his collaborators in a room.
Sergio Massa in another and Cristina and hers isolated in a room.
They only had contact to decide what Alberto was talking about.
Cristina was surrounded by her son Máximo, De Pedro, Teresa García and Axel Kicillof.
Kirchnerism was
lacking in reflexes, without timing and oblivious to reality
: half an hour before the first and categorical official data, they insisted that they had won the Province.
The electoral blow demolished them and Cristina
began to look for culprits
everywhere.
Fury seized everyone and Máximo began to accuse Martín Guzmán for the defeat.
So he said:
“People don't have money.
Guzmán's administration is a failure ”.
Cristina lashed out at Cafiero in a frenzy.
The Chief of Staff was in the next room: that night
Cafiero offered his position to the President
.
So he said: "Alberto, my place and that of all officials are available."
The President went to bed late on Sunday and woke up early on Monday.
That morning, the Instituto Patria
demanded that heads roll, but Alberto rejected the imposition
of Máximo and Cristina.
The President suspects that mother and son want to
finish liquefying their power and take over the government
: he said that the exits of Cafiero and Guzmán left him in a situation of extreme weakness and that was unacceptable.
Then Alberto countered: he listed Cristina who
lost in Santa Cruz, in Buenos Aires and the majority in the Senate
.
He also dealt lurching against Máximo: he accused him of badly armed in Buenos Aires and for
"despising" the Peronist Barons of the Conurbano
.
Kirchner's misfortune -in truth- was brutal.
Axel lost 18 vote points.
Máximo was the true driving force behind the attack on Guzmán
.
He wants his head.
On Tuesday
he offered Massa to
take over the Palace of Finance and the Ministry of Production.
A super ministry.
Máximo told him that the proposal had the full endorsement of Cristina.
For the chief of La Cámpora, this plan left Guzmán “knockout”.
But Massa did not accept.
He agreed with Alberto: he
said that we had to wait until November
to think about those decisions.
Cristina would not be very convinced either: her
unusual ratification
of Guzmán would point to aborting her son's proposals.
Guzmán returned to the Palacio de Hacienda on Wednesday and confirmed to his team the details of the conversation with the vice president.
So he confided: “Cristina told me that she did not ask for my resignation.
We will meet shortly ”.
The minister - later - was sincere: he accused Máximo of igniting this plot against his administration.
He was sincere: “Make no mistake.
Maximo is behind my head, and he doesn't know he's playing with fire ”.
