Due to Corona, the opening of the Taufkirchen community archive had to be postponed.

Now the home historians can show all the more exhibits.

The visit is only possible after registration.

Taufkirchen

- There are stagecoaches not only in the Wild West, they were also on the road in Taufkirchen from 1843 to 1956. And long before the e-bike boom, there was the Babing cycling club here. This is what two of the many new exhibits from the local history community archive that can be admired in the exhibition from Friday, September 24th, tell about. The official opening with invited guests is one week in advance.

Actually, the archive should have opened in 2020.

But the pandemic prevented that.

Archive manager Tobias Karbaumer and his team - father Konrad and his friend Hermann Hoffmann - have not been idle since then.

For example, the former head of administration Konrad Karbaumer has published reports on historical topics such as the end of the war, earlier winters, the local cinemas or the unique Rococo church in Hörgersdorf in every second “Kompass”, the local community newspaper.

In addition, digitization was advanced and the exhibition expanded.

A mini-cinema was set up in which 75 films by Andreas Unterreitmeier, Hubert Kemper and Heinz Lang, among others, are shown.

For this purpose, VHS cassettes were digitized.

A pair of skis each from the Schatz factories in Granting and Holzner in Moosen is a reminder of the earlier ski production in the community.

Other donations include a cast-iron iron from 1801, an old saw, a rake, a sewing machine, a sledge, a furniture catalog from Himolla from 1954 that looks like a photo album, and an old school desk where Monika Schuster's grandfather has his And which he saved when he sold the old school in Gebensbach.

Ex-councilor Otmar Zeilbeck bequeathed two unique items to the archive: his journeyman's piece, a voltmeter and a beer mug.

This commemorates the founding of the said Babing cycling club near Dorfen (on May 27, 1906) and with a lettering to Simon Ostermaier from Frauenvils.

Hoffmann's brother Bernhard recognized the special thing about the mug: the translucent image, a so-called litophany.

If you hold the empty jug up to the light, a glowing floor image appears in the jar bottom.

Mayor Stefan Haberl is pleased about the commitment of the archive team, which also took part in the holiday program and further developed the archive.

He is hoping for many visitors and future visits that could be arranged.
