The man, aged about sixty, had posted, on July 19, the portrait of the head of state made up as Hitler.

On August 12, he had done it again, this time displaying Emmanuel Macron in the guise of Marshal Pétain.

An offense punishable by a fine of 12,000 euros.

The President of the Republic lodged a complaint but did not become a civil party.

"Obey, get vaccinated"

In the wake of the antivax, Michelangelo Fiori had represented for the first time Emmanuel Macron with a small mustache and dressed in a Nazi costume next to the inscription "

obey, get vaccinated

". At the top of the poster, he had diverted the acronym "LREM" into a swastika. The message had been posted on two large advertising boards measuring four by three meters in La Seyne-sur-Mer and at the entrance to Toulon.

"

You see Hitler, but you can see Stalin there, or I see Charlie Chaplin in 'The Dictator',

" the respondent told AFP last July, when an investigation was opened for " public insults ”. The man had particularly insisted on the fact that these posters were intended above all to question "

this democracy where decisions are taken without discussion during a health council

".

The controversial display didn't stop at Hitler. Almost a month after his first poster of Macron disguised as a Nazi dictator, the man did it again by comparing the President of the Republic to Pétain. Behind the portrait of the two men was printed a QR code with, above, the inscription "

There is only one pass to cross

".

The holding of his trial this Friday did not dampen his enthusiasm. On September 9, Michelangelo Fiori posted on Twitter a new poster announcing his trial as a “

fight in the courthouse ring

” for “

freedom of cartoon and expression

”. The respondent represented himself in front of Emmanuel Macron, both in boxing clothes. “

Not all hits will be allowed,

” he says. Many Internet users have already reacted, ensuring to be present at the trial to support him.

Owner of 400 signs between Bandol and Hyères, Michel-Ange Fiori is used to controversial campaigns, regularly posting images supposed to comment on the news on the two signs he reserved. He was committed alongside the yellow vests.
