Legendary footballer Pele has returned to intensive care at a hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazilian media reported tonight (Friday).
According to reports, the former actor's medical condition appears to have deteriorated after he left the Albert Einstein Hospital earlier this week.
The hospital said there was no new information.
ESPN reported that 80-year-old Pele, who won the World Cup in three World Cups with Brazil, was transferred to the intensive care unit due to gastrointestinal problems.
Earlier this month, Pele underwent removal of a tumor from the colon and was transferred to the intensive care unit, from which he was released this week.
After leaving the hospital this week, Pele said in a message to his fans on Instagram that he was ready for "90 minutes plus overtime". It should be noted that the footballer suffered from hip problems that prevented him from walking and in recent years he has reduced his appearances in the media.
