Haurus
", the former DGSI agent sentenced in July to seven years in prison by the Nanterre court for having sold confidential information on the darknet, will remain in prison until his appeal trial in November, decided on Friday the Versailles Court of Appeal.
This 35-year-old former police sergeant had admitted most of the charges against him, and had been convicted of having sold on the darknet confidential data extracted from police files to which he had access: identities, addresses, telephone geolocations, etc. .

Problem, the sentence to which he was sentenced, seven years imprisonment including two suspended, is illegal. The Nanterre public prosecutor's office appealed against this sentence, stressing that "
the simple suspension is applicable with regard to natural persons to prison sentences handed down for a period of five years at most
". Haurus' lawyer, Me Yassine Bouzrou, criticized
the
court's "
incompetence
".
While appearing free and under judicial supervision at first instance, Haurus was imprisoned at the end of the hearing. His lawyer requested his release before his appeal trial, arguing that it is "
inadmissible to be imprisoned on the basis of an illegal sentence
". Haurus' appeal trial will be held on November 5.
