The couple boarded Green Egg Island to take shelter from the rain. Afterwards, the man was struck by lightning in the sea and was sent to hospital and died.
Today (17th), more than 10 relatives and friends of the deceased went to the Western District Public Mortuary to go through the formalities for corpse recognition. They all looked sad.
One of the male relatives and friends said that the deceased had a diving license and was an experienced water sportsman. The deceased went to sea with his wife yesterday.
After the corpse recognition procedures were completed, the relatives and friends of the deceased left by car without saying a word.

At 10:30 in the morning yesterday, the male victim and his wife kayaked from Xiangsi Bay to Green Egg Island.
Until about 11:30, the weather changed suddenly and heavy rain began, and the couple boarded Green Egg Island to take shelter.
At nearly 2 o'clock in the afternoon, the male victim found a boat passing by, thinking it was a catching boat, and then jumped into the water to swim towards the boat, but was struck by lightning.
Many people witnessed the incident and reported the case for help. At the same time, the victim was rescued on a sampan and transported back to shore.
After the marine police arrived, they drove the male victim to the marine police base. The government flying service helicopter drove the victim to the Eastern District Hospital for rescue. His wife was also accompanied by him, but Wang Nan died after being sent to the hospital.
