Confusing crossings, rush hour and a lot of traffic. The dangers to which young students are exposed on the way to school are manifold. School helpers and school bus attendants are people who, with their voluntary work, help to improve safety on the way to school. They help the ABC riflemen on the way to school or back home, for example when crossing busy streets. They are therefore an important and indispensable part of daily road safety work on the way to and from school.
The instruction of school pilots, school bus pilots and school helpers is the task of the local youth traffic educators of the police.
The youth traffic educators in the area of the PP Schwaben Süd / West were able to recruit and train a total of 623 new volunteer helpers for school commute services in 2020. While the number of school guides, school bus guides and school bus guides used declined slightly, the number of school helpers used increased by a total of 380 volunteers.
With a manageable amount of time, parents and grandparents, as well as other interested people, can make a significant contribution to the safety of children and help avoid accidents on the way to school.
