A fire broke out in Tsing Yi.
At about 0:23 am today (18th), a batch of discarded iron and steel scraps was reported to have caught fire in a recycling yard at No. 69-79 Tsing Yi Road. The area of the fire was about 20 meters by 20 meters, and the height was about 15 meters. The fire was fierce. Thick smoke rushed into the air.
The firemen rushed to the report and used two breathing apparatus teams and one throat to fight the fire. At the same time, they raised a ladder to shoot water at the fire, but they had not been put out until nearly 3:30 in the morning.
Initially, no casualties were reported during the fire, and there was no need to evacuate.
The Fire Department issued an appeal at 3:02 in the morning, stating that citizens who are affected by the smoke and odors that drift in the wind should close their doors and windows and remain calm.
