The Bavarian State Government and the Bavarian State Sports Association (BLSV) now want to reverse this development and have created an incentive to bring elementary school students back into the sports clubs.
All Bavarian primary school students receive a voucher worth 30 euros, which is credited towards the annual membership in a sports club. This was announced recently by Bavaria's Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann and BLSV President Jörg Ammon in Nuremberg. Herrmann and Ammon see the voucher campaign as an effective measure to counteract the persistent lack of exercise among children. “With our voucher program to promote club membership, we give additional incentives to encourage children to do more sport in clubs. In this way we strengthen the health of our children and support our Bavarian sports clubs in gaining new members, ”explained Hermann. Ammon sees the program as "exactly the spark that our sports clubs need now".The vouchers can be used for entry into a sports club between September 14, 2021 and September 13, 2022.
