Occupied Jerusalem-SANA
Dozens of Palestinians from the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories demonstrated today in solidarity with the prisoners and denouncing the crimes of the Israeli occupation against them.
Wafa Agency reported that the participants in the demonstration that took place in the town of Kafr Kanna raised slogans denouncing the escalation of violence, abuse and Israeli oppression against the prisoners, especially after six Palestinian prisoners took their freedom from Gilboa prison two weeks ago, and the occupation re-arrested four of them.
The participants called on international human rights and humanitarian organizations to assume their responsibilities and provide protection for prisoners in occupation detention centers in accordance with international laws and norms.
About 5,000 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails face harsh detention conditions, including 600 prisoners who need urgent medical intervention.
