Argentine President Alberto Fernandez announced Friday, September 17 a new government, with the aim of resolving a political crisis caused by an electoral setback of his majority and which degenerated into an open confrontation with his vice-president, Cristina Kirchner.

Alberto Fernandez has notably appointed to the post of head of the council of ministers the governor of the province of Tucuman (north-west) Juan Manzur, replacing Santiago Cafiero, one of the members of the executive most contested by Ms. Kirchner.
