The leadership of the PP is trying by all means to water down the crisis opened by Ayuso by defending his candidacy for the party in Madrid, asking that the congress scheduled for the first half of 2022 be advanced and publicly acknowledging that he needs that time to apply his particulars methods and ideas to that training.
Without modesty, these days he has defended that the PP "is doing well" by discussing his claims and was classified as a successful electoral brand.

Egea has clarified now, several months later, that he would have said the same if they had asked him about the hypothetical candidacy of the mayor of Madrid, Alcalá or Boadilla.

The meeting that did take place and was fatal for these two sides of the PP was the one that took place after the summer between Esperanza Aguirre and Egea. The former president read a piece of information in which the leadership of the PP concluded that it was necessary to bet on a third way to control the party in Madrid because they still considered it a "sick" organization from the corruptions that devastated it in the stage that Aguirre presided over. .
The former president herself has told these days that she wrote to Casado indignantly demanding explanations. That Casado referred her to an appointment with Egea, who called her and went to her house. The aperitif lasted two hours and the wine did not appease their spirits. Egea reaffirmed that "the PP in Madrid was a sick party that had to be cured." And Aguirre says that he replied: "But what are you saying?" And he recalled that in the 2011 elections he removed 72 deputies and won in 174 of the 179 city councils in the region. Egea told him that the mayor of the capital, José Luis Martínez Almeida, would appear in those internal elections of the PP and Aguirre, who calls the councilor "Pepito", denied it.
