"It was a difficult decision":
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett published an article in Economist magazine yesterday (Friday), in which he referred to the vaccine campaign against Corona in a third dose. Decisions can be more harmful than taking a calculated risk. "
In the article, Bennett explained that when the government began its darkness, "there was a feeling in Israel that we had defeated the corona virus and the days of the plague were over forever ... life was back to normal, or so we thought."

Bennett presents two options he faced as the Delta strain spread: "dragging Israel into further closure and further harming our economy and society, or doubling vaccines as a key strategy, along with less restrictive measures."
The Prime Minister explained that in view of the third vaccine, the number of verified and hospitalized has decreased - despite the decision to open the school year on September 1 and not impose restrictions on the holidays.
"If we had waited another three weeks before we started vaccinating in the third dose, the medical centers in Israel would have been flooded with seriously ill patients," Bennett states.
He also addresses the question of whether a booster can be given when there are countries in the world that have not yet vaccinated their citizens in the first instance, noting that "we believe it is essential to do what we can to save lives in our countries, working together as a global community to help developing countries fight the virus."
