The automotive service provider Sixt, based in Pullach, is expanding its car sharing offer in the Munich district.

The six-month test phase is now starting in Unterhaching.

With immediate effect, customers can access the vehicles in the newly developed business area via the Sixt app.

Unterhaching

- After a pilot project in Graefelfing, the expansion of the sharing offer to the community of Unterhaching can be seen as the starting shot for the southern Munich area.

This means that people in suburban areas will be offered flexible, modern mobility as an alternative to their own vehicle or a second car.

The company works closely with communities and local companies such as the Schwaiger Group, which developed and operates the Hatrium office complex in Unterhaching.

According to their own admission, those involved in Unterhaching want to promote traffic development and create more space in public space.

Reserved parking spaces enable uncomplicated parking.

Find and reserve a vehicle using the app

The Sixt Share vehicles are available around the clock via the app.

The app is based on the mobility platform One, through which Sixt customers have access to a fleet of more than 200,000 vehicles, an all-round service and around 1.5 million drivers.

Customers can find, reserve and open the vehicle with a click in the app.

After driving, you can park anywhere in the business area - including within the Munich city area.

The mobility stations are located here

In Unterhaching, opposite the S-Bahn station in the direction of Albrecht-Dürer-Straße, there is also a mobility station with two reserved parking spaces. Sixt Share vehicles can be parked there around the clock. In addition, local companies support the car sharing offer in Unterhaching and provide mobility stations. For example, reserved, publicly accessible Sixt Share parking spaces were set up in front of the Schwaiger Group's Hatrium office district and at the Develey headquarters in order to create an incentive for local employees.

Transport Minister Kerstin Schreyer was enthusiastic about the project in her home community: “It is important to me that people everywhere in Bavaria can live well.

For this, the transport offer has to be right.

Car sharing models can be a good addition for people without their own car. "
