The Catholic parish of St. Michael Poing celebrates the parish festival due to Corona this year not on one day, but on nine days.

Here is the program.

Poing - A parish festival in the style of before Corona with many people being together in one place is still not easily possible.

Nevertheless, Poing's Catholic pastor Philipp Werner wants to bring the parish and the congregation together to celebrate as best he can - just a little different this time.

"Together by far - 9 days of parish festival 2021" is the motto that will apply from today, Saturday.

"Instead of a one-day parish festival, there are many opportunities to meet, pray, celebrate, experience faith and fellowship," Werner wrote in the invitation.

Up to and including Sunday, September 26th, there is a daily program in various forms.

Poing: Start at the "Long Night of Music"

The start is with the “Long Night of Music”, which the municipality of Poing is organizing this Saturday, September 18th. Here the parish of St. Michael participates with the musical meditation lesson "Sound and Silence" from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the parish church of Seliger Rupert Mayer and with an organ concert (classical and jazz) by the new organist Simon Bauer in the old church of St. Michael ( 9.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m.).

On Sunday, September 19, after the service (which starts at 10.30 a.m.) from around 11.30 a.m. on the forecourt of the parish church, Rupert Mayer will be offering lard biscuits to take away.

There are also acolytes who offer muffins and organize a painting competition.

At the same time as Sunday mass, a “children's service with a picnic blanket” will take place in the neighboring parish hall.

Registration by email to: MWendlinger@ebmuc.de.

Under the heading “When stones speak”, pastoral advisor Michael Wendlinger leads through the parish church on Sunday afternoon.

It starts at 4 p.m.

Meditate and pray

On Monday, September 20th, a rosary will be prayed in the Church of St. Michael, designed by the Schoenstatt Movement.

Start: 6 p.m.

“Take a breath” is the motto on Tuesday when Martina Hohl and Gitte Halbeck invite you to an hour of music, texts and meditation in the Rupert Mayer parish church at 5.30 p.m.

On Wednesday at 8 a.m. there is morning praise in the Church of St. Michael (designed by the Frauenbund), on Thursday at 7 p.m. there is a Holy Mass in the Rupert Mayer parish church.

Special guided tour through the Parish Church of Poing

There the Kolping family will organize a "torch tour" on Friday, September 24th.

Start is at 7.30 p.m.

In the dark, the participants only explore the church and its special features with flashlights (please bring your own).

Registration with Tom Stiegler, phone (08121) 802916. If necessary, there is an additional appointment at 9 pm for this special tour.

On Friday evening it gets romantic on the forecourt: by the campfire of the scouts of the Windrose tribe, which is lit at 8 p.m.

Closing point with rosary

At the end of the “9 days parish festival” on Sunday, September 26th, at 10 o'clock in the Church of St. Michael, there will be a Holy Mass for the patronage.

The evening mass on Saturday is celebrated in the parish church from 7 p.m.

The very last item on the program is on that Sunday, September 26th, a rosary at the Marienkapelle in Bergfeldpark, designed by the Marian Congregation for Men.

Start at 6 p.m.

The Corona regulations currently in force apply to all events, says Pastor Werner.
