Jetzendorf - The fact that several groups are missing for a daycare center is no longer a secret in Jetzendorf. Jetzendorf - The fact that several groups are missing for a daycare center is no longer a secret in Jetzendorf.

The local council has been looking for another location for childcare for a long time, because no ideal solution was found for an extension either in the children's home in Priel or in the sparrow's nest in Jetzendorf.

Since Tuesday evening, however, the municipal councils have agreed:

It is to become a nature kindergarten on the Schafflerhof in the Lindhof district, where the “Echo” association operated an inclusive nature station with horses for six years until 2019.

From a private perspective, the Schafflerhof was then run with horses, sheep, goats and dogs until April of this year.

A three-week summer camp organized by the Zweckverband Jugendarbeit, which is now also responsible for lunchtime care at the Jetzendorfer school, met with a great response from children and their parents.

After the local council had got an idea of the Schafflerhof on site, there was still an extensive discussion in the local council, but in the end a unanimous decision that the administration of the community should initiate the necessary steps for such a nature kindergarten at the Schafflerhof.

Only as far as the name of this new childcare facility was concerned, there was still no agreement: some spoke of the nature kindergarten, others called the project farm kindergarten. Mayor Manfred Betzin explained that a consultation with the Zweckverband Jugendarbeit revealed that facilities of the planned kind are in great demand with parents and children.

“That could also be an advantage when it comes to finding staff,” says the community chief, who previously wanted to avoid a third location for a kindergarten, but is now very pleased with the use of the Schafflerhof. Betzin said that, provided that the district office agrees, it makes sense to set up one or two kindergarten groups first. Betzin is aiming for a lease for 20 years. The bacon farmer, who owns the Schafflerhof, has already indicated that he will agree to such a lease.

The operator concept has to be agreed with the district office beforehand. While Betzin thinks it makes sense to consider the Zweckverband Jugendarbeit as the operator of this nature kindergarten, municipal councilor Stefan Gottschalk (Lampertshausen voter group) said that the planned facility should be run directly by the community. The mayor answered Gottschalk's question about future places for guest children at the Schafflerhof as follows: "I don't think we could give guest places to other communities."

Nevertheless, Gottschalk declared: “I am an absolute advocate of the nature kindergarten in Lindhof.” Vice-Mayor Leonhard Sedlmeier (non-party) was also enthusiastic about the idea of the nature kindergarten. A kindergarten like this has an unlikely charm, we should take advantage of this opportunity. "

The SPD councilor Sandra Gamperl stated that the area was beautiful, but that she had concerns about the condition of the farmhouse, “because renovating there is a bottomless pit”. Gamperl fears that the house would have to be completely gutted at great expense. But then the mayor disagreed by declaring: “We'll see if we need the house at all. We shouldn't talk the project to death right from the start and not take the second step before the first. ”Building something new is not necessarily sustainable.

According to community chief Manfred Betzin, the time would speak for the Schafflerhof on this issue, and the future opening times are not set in stone either. The mayor is convinced that there are also many children in the community of Jetzendorf who would rather go to a nature kindergarten than a state-of-the-art facility.
