At about 11 am today (18th), the police received a report that someone had fallen off the track at Mong Kok East Station on the MTR East Rail Line.
Fire and ambulancemen received the call and found the victim at the bottom of the train and rescued him, but confirmed that the victim was dead.
The police seized the deceased’s personal belongings at the scene and are investigating the cause of the deceased’s fall from track and trying to contact his family to understand the situation.
The train service on the East Rail Line from Hung Hom Station to Kowloon Tong Station was temporarily suspended due to a person falling off the track at Mong Kok East Station. The train service from Sheung Shui to Kowloon Tong Station was once maintained at an 8-minute interval.
At about 12 o'clock in the afternoon, the MTR stated that the accident had been properly handled, and the train service of the East Rail Line returned to normal one after another.
