The streaming giant

Netflix

launched an interactive series,

Jigsaw

, which will star Giancarlo Esposito (

Breaking Bad

,

Better Call Saul

and the evil man from

The Mandalorian

, the Spanish Paz Vega and Rufus Sewell.

The idea seems to be to follow the model of

Black Mirror: Bandersnatch

, the most successful result so far, so there are new projects that have been launched.

The model is none other than choose your own adventure, so the viewer, from his remote control, has the opportunity to decide which paths the plot follows.

The first thing to clarify is that

Jigsaw

has absolutely nothing to do with the horror saga of the same title in English (

The game of fear

, between us).

In other words, the development will change according to the decisions made by the viewer.

Over 24 years, the series will focus on the greatest robbery ever attempted and the revenge, intrigues, loyalties and betrayals that surround it.

It is loosely inspired by the true story where $ 70 billion in bonds were lost in downtown Manhattan during the terrible passage of Hurricane Sandy.

The cast

Giancarlo Esposito, Paz Vega and Rufus Sewell are joined by Tati Gabrielle, Peter Mark Kendall, Rosaline Elbay, Jai Courtney and Niousha Noor.

The series is currently filming at Netflix Studios: Brooklyn.

In "Better Call Saul," Giancarlo Esposito stars alongside Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks.

Jigsaw

will have in its, for now first season, a total of eight episodes.

The timeline will be non-linear in the series, ranging from 24 years before the robbery to a year after it happened.

Erica Garcia created

Jigsaw

, and will also serve as showrunner and executive producer.

José Padilha, the Brazilian director of

Tropa de élite

and the

RoboCop

remake

, will direct the first two episodes.

Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker and Jordan Sheehan are executive producers through Scott Free Productions, along with Fred Berger, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Justin Levy of Automatik Entertainment and Russell Fine.

From what is known, Giancarlo Esposito will be Leo Pap, a natural, intelligent leader with a meticulous eye for detail.

He became a thief as a young man, and although he had the opportunity to abandon the criminal life, he could not, and his relapse cost him his family and his freedom.

Rufus Sewll, in the recent "Old Men", by M. Night Shyamalan.

Paz Vega plays Ava Mercer, a lawyer who will do anything to protect the few people close to her.

The 45-year-old Andalusian star rose to fame with

director Julio Medem's

provocative

Lucía y el sexo

twenty years ago, in 2001, and then tried to make the leap to Hollywood, starring, for example, in

Espanglish

, in in 2004, working with Adam Sandler.

And Rufus Sewell will play Roger Salas, a former thief who has reinvented himself as a world-class security expert.

He is also a manipulator who gets people to do what is beneficial to his ends.

There is no certain release date yet.
