Over the weekend, authorities in the city of Del Rio in Texas had to deal with a severe humanitarian crisis at a crossroads from Mexico to the U.S. after more than 10,000 migrants lined the Rio International Bridge that crosses the Rio Grande River.
These are originally citizens of Haiti, but also of Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua.
According to Reuters, they slept under a bridge and some even set up tents.
Many more are likely to make their way to the crossing point.
These are immigrants who made a arduous journey through Mexico and according to instructions they received from a WhatsApp group designed to help reach the United States.
BREAKING: Just wrapped up a helicopter ride with Texas DPS at the international bridge in Del Rio, TX.
What we saw was absolutely stunning.
There are at least 10,000 migrants under the bridge who crossed illegally, and a constant stream of hundreds more crossing over.

In the US, the authorities have announced that they intend to gradually return the citizens of Haiti to their country in the next few days, by about five flights departing daily. And assassination of the President.
The mayor of Del Rio has declared a state of emergency in light of the amount of people on the border and it looks like the Biden administration will be forced to allocate resources to support the temporary absorption of those who will be allowed to stay and apply for official immigration. As you may recall, since President Joe Biden took office, the number of immigrants trying to reach the United States has been on the rise for a long time, in part because he promised a "more humane approach" to his predecessor.
