The 200,000th Jakobmayer visitor is coming soon

Since the Jakobmayer cultural center opened in Dorfen ten years ago, 1,400 events have taken place in the historic hall alone.

The anniversary is now being celebrated in a big way.

- Every year the Jakobmayer cultural center attracts well over 20,000 visitors to the historic Art Nouveau hall on the Lower Market in Dorfen.

Only because of the Corona years 2020 and 2021, the 200,000th visitor has not yet been welcomed.

And that doesn't even include the film fans who visit s'Kino every day.

An impressive record, due to which Dorfen has blossomed into the cultural capital of the district over the past ten years.

Because that's how long this temple of creativity has existed in its current form.

Almost every other day there is something to do there.

Also this autumn: It is all about this anniversary.

The motto is: “Pratatatusch, we hit the drum!

Jakobmayer is 10. "

On November 11, 2011, the lights went on again everywhere in the Gasthaus zum Jakobmayer on the Unteren Markt after decades in which the house was no longer fully used.

The city of Dorfen acquired the 100-year-old, listed building - which used to be the cultural center of the city - and had it renovated in 2002.

In the meantime, the Jakobmayer has become a cultural center well-known far beyond the district boundaries.

More than 1,400 events have taken place in the historic hall alone since it opened - an average of around 160 per year.

Birgitt Binder, who has been in charge of the company's cultural operations since August 2015, and Astrid Wandinger and her team organize events with artists such as Gerhard Polt, Pam Pam Ida, Quadro Nuevo and many more.

Opera Incognita sets the tone with operas and musicals, which, like other high-quality theater productions, are organized by the Jakobmayer's friends.

The hall is also booked for weddings, henna evenings, lectures and much more.
