The novel (The Call of Spirits) by the writer Safwan Ibrahim consists of an artistic narrative that converges and touches reality and includes the story of a young man in one event to show through it the qualities of tolerance, love, morals, belonging and loyalty.
In the novel, the writer Ibrahim presents how the son dealt with his sick father who accompanied him in the hospital and lived the transformations of his illness, so he learned from him many qualities and endured all the troubles he faced during his father’s illness, in addition to the father’s love for his children and the distribution of love in a manner that suits the nature of each of them.
The writer also shows in his novel the imbalance that some children make towards their parents, some of them are those who sold his father’s house after his death and left his mother to rent a small house. Make him a gentleman.
Jaafar moves from the countryside to the city and gets acquainted with a Sudanese man who came to Damascus and lived in its authentic neighborhoods, and there was a strong bond between them that prompted Jaafar to spend most of his days in the house of the Sudanese man, who named his daughter Yasmin after Jasmine al-Sham.
Despite the strength of the narrative structure and the balanced movement of the event, a defect occurred, as Ibrahim mentioned in the narration that Jaafar became the head of the police patrol accompanying the supply elements, who signs their records and refers the violators in the markets to investigation. eliminate without the intervention of the other.
Jaafar, the protagonist of the novel, loved Jasmine in a chaste manner. Then the love began to grow and values, tolerance and love began to appear through the novelistic event, which eventually went to Jasmine in Omdurman in Sudan. She did not accept marriage to Jaafar in Syria, because she would return to the soil on which she was supposed to continue her life, and because of the circumstances. Jaafar joined Yasmine, and there the narrator Ibrahim indicated the completion of the love relationship, so that at the end of it marriage would document the importance of national relations, the cohesion of Arabism, and the intensity of belonging.
The novel is from the publications of Dar Baal and is part of what he mentioned in the Social Solidarity Award in the Time of Corona for novelistic creativity announced by Dr. Muhammad Al-Hourani, and it is located in 195 pages of medium pieces.
