It was one of the few activities that was still disabled. Until now, nightclubs could only offer gastronomy service.

To sharpen the steps and dust the closet.

As of next Saturday, the only activity that was disabled during the entire pandemic in the City of Buenos Aires returns:

dancing

.

The

porteño clubs

, recently converted to gastronomy to be able to work, have not been able to offer their original activity for more than a year and a half.

“We are

the only sector that has not yet returned to its origin

.

The cinema shows movies, restaurants serve food, soccer is soccer, the lottery sells cards, but for almost 19 months, discos are no longer a place where you can dance, ”

Omar Capalbo

told

Clarín

.

The president of the Business Chamber of Discotheques and Entertainment of the City of Buenos Aires (Cedeba), which today brings together about 90 Buenos Aires nightclubs, assures that

around 35% of the clubs closed as a result of the pandemic

.

“There are many who were left on the road, such as City Hall or Shampoo, to which are added

many others who are melted and still do not know it

.

When they open up and face their debts, they will find out, ”he says.

Liquid, one of the clubs that did not resist the closure due to the pandemic.

This week, the City Government published in the Official Gazette

two resolutions that update the

operating

protocols

of gastronomic places in closed spaces and outdoors, a category that now also includes class “C” dance venues and houses of Exceptionally authorized private parties for the development of gastronomic activities.

The novelty is that the new protocol admits, for the first time in a pandemic,

the realization of social events with dancing

.

The dance floors cannot be used as before.

The new modality

will be for social bubbles

, with 2 meters of distance from each other.

Each bubble will be delimited by table and / or chair spaces, or by markings on the ground.

"It will only be allowed to dance

in the space assigned to each attendee

, without interacting with people assigned to occupy other tables, structures or spaces or elements of demarcation chosen," says the document.

Among the most important points, the new regulation admits

a maximum simultaneous occupancy of 400 people

and requires the public to wear a chinstrap at all times, except when eating or drinking.

There will be dancing in the bowling alleys, but it will not be like before, but bubbles will form.

If held outdoors, social events can only take place in private spaces (terraces or patios) with an occupancy factor of 1 person every 4 square meters.

In closed premises, the document clarifies, the occupancy coefficient of the capacity will be

a maximum of 70%

in relation to the maximum capacity enabled.

Sources from the Government Control Agency (AGC) told

Clarín

that nightclubs and event rooms

may require authorization to carry out activities with dance

of this type with a minimum anticipation of

5 business days

, so that Saturday, September 25 will be the first day enabled.

"They must

notify the Ministry of Culture

through the electronic channel info@festivales.gob.ar at least 5 business days prior to the date of the activity, through the form that will be prepared for this purpose, which will have character of affidavit (ANNEX IV) ", says the regulation provided to this newspaper by AGC sources.

The declaration "must be presented by a person in charge, who will be in charge of guaranteeing compliance with the measures emanating from this protocol," the document adds.

For Capalbo, the new resolution "patches a little" the situation of the discos.

But remember that the capacity is calculated on the capacity enabled for gastronomic activity.

The president of the chamber assured this newspaper that this new regulation "will be

a test for fifteen days

and the idea is that afterwards the capacity is expanded and allowed to dance outside the bubbles."

In that sense, he argued that "it is unfair that the big clubs are allowed to do massive events, with bands, where pogos are produced. That is allowed."

The modality of bowling with bubble dancing is already used

in some municipalities of the Province of Buenos Aires

and in cities such as Rosario, where pilot tests have already begun.

Bubble dancing will also be allowed in the ballrooms.

In Mar del Plata, businessmen promote a new protocol in which bubbles are eliminated and proof of vaccination against Covid-19 is required, on the other hand.

A proposal that they are evaluating for the summer season.

In the City it was never implemented, except in cultural shows.

This Sunday, for example, the

Crew Savage

event will be held

with electronic music and dancing in corralitos at the Hippodrome.
