Parents Scout and Itzik told of a beloved, curious and creative child who engaged in non-stop activities: "He acted on borrowed time, as if he felt" Despite the pain, they emphasize that they have no anger: "It's fate, it is written - anger will not return the child to me"

At the Khoury family home in Ramat Gan, the tragedy that befell them with the death of the late Barak, who was run over to death during Yom Kippur, is not yet digested. He felt, "said his mother, Scout.

As you may recall, Barak, 12 and ten months old, rode his bicycle to Petah Tikva to meet his good friend.

When he reached Road 4 near the Givat Shmuel junction, he was run over to death.

The speeding driver, Eran Azoulay, is suspected of driving while driving.

"He has wanted to go to his best friend in Petah Tikva for a year and because of the corona they did not let him go. He came to us and told us 'I printed maps and I want to go.' I did not so much want him to go, but how much can the child be held? "I said Yom Kippur what could it be? The roads are empty ... he was wearing a helmet and reflectors ... out of excitement he left without saying hello and then God decided he needed him up there," his mother Scout repeated that awful evening.

"We called him, he did not answer several times. We turned to the police, did a phone call and then two policemen appeared here, said there was an accident and took us to Beilinson. They did not talk all the way, just threw us a shock room, surgery. Itzik and I almost fainted on the way. When she entered." "The band of doctors in the room realized that the situation was very bad. A quarter of an hour after the story ended, it was just awful."

"Trying to move on"

Parents Scout and Itzik are not angry with anyone, they say it will not help.

"It's fate, written from above as they say. It's his day, will it help me get angry? Will it take me somewhere? The anger will not bring me back to the child," his mother said.

His father Itzik added: "I try not to get to these districts and not to think about the difficult questions. It pops up, trying to move on and live with it."

"Engaged in many activities."

Barak was an unusually creative child, his parents say.

He was a painter, a robot programmer, a carpenter, a seamstress, a knitter and he also sang, played and swam.

For his many works he recycles things himself.

"From everything he touched, he came up with something amazing. He always said 'I will invent an invention that will change the world,' that was his motto."

"I would go with him on the street, if he saw a discarded TV or other electronic device, he would honestly want to bring him home to dismantle and investigate. He put into practice any idea he had in mind, working on several projects simultaneously," his mother said, adding: " He acted like he was on borrowed time, as if he felt. In this world".

In about a month, the Khoury trial was scheduled to celebrate Barak's bar mitzvah.

His mother said that already two years ago he imagined what she should look like.

"He said that at his bar mitzvah he came down with a piano from the ceiling, his band would come and he would do a performance. At the entrance to the hall there will be an exhibition of the people with the pictures he painted," said the mother, Scout.

"I told him to do what he thinks, they gave him a free hand. When the bar mitzvah approached I said to him, 'Lightning, come forward, do what you wanted.' "And suddenly you grasp the meaning of things, he got a piece of rest in his bar mitzvah, you have to be careful with the words, as they say."

Now the late Barak's parents want to commemorate him in a special project. For more than a year, Barak has been developing an "automatic firefighter" robot that aims to detect and put out fires without endangering human lives and firefighters. He has already built such a robot, and now his parents want to complete the project. And turned it into a robot that could be used to put out actual fires and save lives with the help of lightning.

"The project will give us strength to continue. The very act of giving will help us move forward. He was such a special child, and such a commemorative project will inspire other children to develop their creativity," Father Itzik concluded.

The offending driver, Eran Azulai, 45, from Be'er Ya'akov, will be brought in this evening for another detention extension.

As you may recall, Azouli already had 44 traffic offenses, and this is the third time he has been caught driving while intoxicated.

Twice out of three he was caught due to involvement in a car accident.

Azoulay is suspected of manslaughter, driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and reckless driving.

According to his defense attorney, Azoulay is a 'battle victim' from the incident he experienced, and the fact that a drunk driver does not establish that he is guilty of an accident.

Eran Azulai in court, suspected of trampling to death the 12-year-old on Yom Kippur, Gideon Markovich

"His heart goes out to the family of the victim of the crime and he regrets the result. Between this and determining that there is a reasonable suspicion that he committed an offense the distance is very long. The fact that a person drove under the influence of alcohol and caused an accident Defense counsel

Judge Mia Roizman Eldor did not accept the defense attorney's request for Azoulay's release and noted that there is a reasonable suspicion against the suspect for committing the offenses attributed to him and that there is a reason for his arrest, which is of a dangerous nature. This matter is also sharpened in light of the suspect's traffic criminal record in relation to similar conduct in the past. "This is a very unfortunate case, it must be said that it is also tragic, and I have no doubt that the suspect also mourns his results, and regrets them as he was also alleged before me," the judge wrote in her decision.
