Washington-Sana
The US Congressional Police announced the arrest of 4 people who participated in the protest today in front of the Capitol building, who were supporters of former US President Donald Trump, in support of the suspects in the case of storming the building.
In a statement carried by agencies, the police pointed out that one of those arrested armed with a pistol was seen in the crowd, noting that it had intervened several times to break up limited clashes between supporters of the detainees and the crowd near the site in refusal to protest Trump supporters.
Riot police also pulled out a protester from inside the crowd who had a large knife around his foot.
It is noteworthy that the US police announced yesterday imposing strict security measures on the Capitol building in Washington on the eve of the demonstration in support of Trump supporters arrested for their participation in the attack on the building on the sixth of last January.
The roads surrounding the building were closed for fear of encroachments, and a high barrier was erected in the square surrounding it, as reported by "AFP".
On January 6, a large group of supporters of Republican former US President Donald Trump stormed the headquarters of Congress while it was holding sessions to approve the results of the presidential election that Democrat Joe Biden won, in an accident that killed 5 people.
