The Observatory predicts that the high-altitude anticyclone will bring generally good weather to southern China in the next two or three days. At the same time, the high-altitude disturbance affects the northern part of the South China Sea, and a broad area of ​​low pressure is the southern part.

In addition, an easterly airstream will affect the coast of Guangdong in the middle and late next week, and there will be showers in this area.


According to the nine-day weather forecast from the Observatory, there will be rain in the next nine days.

Next Tuesday (21st) is the Mid-Autumn Festival. The Observatory expects sunshine for a short period of time and a few showers on that day; the temperature is between 27 and 32 degrees, with a higher 34 degrees in Sheung Shui.

Hot weather with rain may hinder people from enjoying the moon.

The Observatory stated that the high-altitude anticyclone is bringing generally good weather to southeastern China.

As of 2:20 pm today (18th), the Observatory has recorded a maximum of 33.2 degrees, Chek Lap Kok and Yuen Long have reached over 34 degrees, and Sheung Shui has reached 35.3 degrees.

The very hot weather warning has been in force since 7:45 a.m. yesterday (17th) and has been maintained to this day.

The Observatory is expected to be generally cloudy today with some showers in some areas; there will be sunshine and intense heat during part of the afternoon.

The easterly wind was moderated in Hong Kong, and offshore winds were occasionally refreshed.

Looking forward to the next one or two days, there will be sunny and hot periods, and there will be one or two showers. There will be more showers in the middle of next week.

The Observatory expects that next Thursday and Friday (24th) will also be generally cloudy with a few showers; the temperature will drop slightly to between 26 and 30 degrees.

Regarding tropical cyclones, the Mainland Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that there will be a typhoon in the South China Sea and the Northwest Pacific in the next 10 days, but the probability of affecting the inland coasts is low.

The Observatory pointed out that the tropical depression "Santo" was at 12 noon today. The tropical depression Santo gathered about 290 kilometers southwest of Tokyo and is expected to move eastward at a speed of about 28 kilometers per hour.

It is expected that "Sunto" will traverse the southern part of Japan today and gradually evolve into an extratropical cyclone.
