No risk - as early as Wednesday evening, workers again erected a high fence around the Capitol, the seat of the US Congress. According to NBC, around 700 Trump supporters, some of them right-wing extremists, are expected in front of the building on Saturday evening to demonstrate under the motto "Justice for J6", briefly for January 6th. They want to support the more than 600 defendants who have to answer in court because of the storming of the Capitol on January 6th. At that time, Trump supporters forcibly stormed the Congress seat to prevent the election result from being certified. Five people were killed. The head of the Capitol Police, Thomas Manger, emphasized on Friday that one was prepared.
Thomas Manger, Head of the Capitol Police: »There were threats of violence for the demo tomorrow. We have taken strong measures to keep it peaceful and to stop all violence quickly. What we are most concerned about is a clash with counter-demonstrators who make it to this demo. "
The police called in one hundred national guardsmen for help.
The fence was only dismantled in July after it was erected after the storm.
Most of the congress members were out of town on Saturday.
