Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching. In response to crowds and traffic conditions, the Transport Department announced that during the period from 20 to 22, road closures and traffic diversions will be arranged in Repulse Bay, Shek O, and Stanley on Hong Kong Island; Tai Mo Shan Country Park in New Territories and Wu Kai Sha in Ma On Shan .

In response to the expected increase in passenger volume, the MTR will increase the frequency of some railway lines and light rail from 3 pm on the 21st.

The tram service will be enhanced from 21st to 22nd.

Special traffic and transportation arrangements for Mid-Autumn Festival 2021

A. Hong Kong Island

(1) Causeway Bay

The parking spaces on the west side of the Hing Fat Street Public Car Park (except for the disabled parking spaces) will be temporarily suspended from 3 pm on September 21 to 2 am the following day.

(2) Repulse Bay

Road closures and traffic diversions will be implemented on September 21 and 22: (i) Public light buses along Repulse Bay Road may be prohibited from entering Beach Road; (ii) When the parking lot on South Bay Road is full, the South Bay Drive South Bay Road in the south may be closed to prohibit all vehicles from entering (except for residents’ vehicles and public transportation in the area); U-turn at the junction; (iv) when the Yingwan Park car park is full, all vehicles along Repulse Bay Road may be prohibited from waiting outside the car park; and (v) when the car park on South Bay Road is full, all vehicles along the beach Traffic on the road may be diverted to leave the area via South Bay Road (northbound) (except for South Bay Road residents' vehicles).

The taxi stand opposite to Shadow Bay Park on Repulse Bay Road, as well as all meter parking spaces and motorcycle parking spaces on Beach Road and Island Road (except for the disabled parking spaces on Island Road) will be held at 4pm on the 21st It will be suspended from 6:00 am to 6:00 am the next day.

(3) Shek O

The 15 parking spaces in the Shek O Beach Public Car Park will be temporarily suspended from 2 pm on the 21st to 3 am on September 23.

(4)Stanley

Due to crowds and traffic conditions, when the car parks at Stanley Beach Road and Wong Ma Kok Path are full, Stanley Beach Road and Wong Ma Kok Path may be closed on September 21 and 22, 2021. All vehicles are prohibited from entering ( Resident vehicles and public transportation in the area are excluded).

B. New Territories

(1) Tsuen Wan

The section of Tai Mo Shan Road east of its junction with the Tsuen Kam Highway will be closed on September 21 and 22 from 5 pm to 3 am the next day. All vehicles are prohibited from entering (vehicles and emergency services used by residents of this area) Except for vehicles).

The car park of Tai Mo Shan Country Park will be closed during this period.

(2) Ma On Shan

From September 20th to 22nd, it will be closed from 4:30 pm to 3 am of the next day, and all vehicles other than residents' vehicles and emergency service vehicles in the area are prohibited from entering (i) Ma On Shan Village route south of its small U-turn; (ii) The section north of the roundabout between Yiu Sha Road and Wuxi Sha Road; and (iii) The junction of Yiu Sha Road and Wuming Road towards Dutouwan Village.
