The municipality of Forstern has purchased 28 air filter devices for its elementary and middle school.
Forstern
- Numerous communities in the district have purchased air filter devices for their schools in the past few weeks and months.
Now the classrooms of the Forstern elementary and middle school have also been equipped with it.
“We bought two devices for each of the 14 classrooms,” reported Mayor Rainer Streu on Friday - a total of 28 units.
This would have cost around 30,000 euros, with the municipality reckoning with funding of around 22,000 euros.
The devices were delivered shortly after school started.
They should then be ready for use from next week.
For this purpose, Rijnder Mier, expert for indoor air measurements and expert for air cleaning systems from Forstern, determined the optimal placement of the air filters in the respective rooms by means of measurements.
Filter devices as a supplement to ventilation
Headmistress Annett Taubert was delighted with this important building block for more safety in the classrooms.
Especially now, when the cold season is approaching, the filter devices are a good addition to ventilation.
Taubert and Streu emphasized in unison that this is of course still absolutely important and necessary.
The mayor also reported that “in a second step we will equip additional rooms with air filter devices”.
In the school building, it is about the lunchtime care rooms and the open all-day school (OGTS) as well as the teachers' room and the secretariat.
They also want to equip the kindergartens in the community.
The next application process is currently being prepared for this, continued Streu.
