Occupied Jerusalem-SANA
The Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 witnessed today a solidarity stand in support of the Palestinian prisoners and denouncing the crimes of the Israeli occupation against them.
Wafa Agency stated that the participants in the sit-in organized in front of the “Jalma” prison in the occupied Palestinian territories in 1948 in support of the prisoners raised the Palestinian flags and pictures of the six prisoners who had taken their freedom from the “Gilboa” detention camp last week, and the Israeli occupation re-arrested them and banners denouncing the occupation’s violations against the prisoners in its prisons. It demands international protection for them.
The participants in the vigil stressed that the occupation violates all international agreements, laws and treaties related to prisoners, calling on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and pressure the occupation to release all prisoners.
About 5,000 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails face harsh detention conditions, including 600 prisoners who need urgent medical intervention.
