According to information from Minsk, a migrant woman from Iraq was found dead on the border between Belarus and Poland.
The woman's body was only a meter away from the border, said a Belarusian border guard representative of the state news agency Belta.
There are "clear indications" that she was "drawn" from Poland to Belarus.
In the vicinity of the dead woman were reportedly three children, a man and an elderly woman.
They are all Iraqi nationality.
The dead woman's husband said, according to Belta, Polish security forces had taken the group to the border and "threatened" to go to Belarus.
The border between Poland and Belarus, like other EU eastern borders, is currently in focus: Poland's President Andrzej Duda declared an emergency on the border at the beginning of the month after thousands of migrants from the Middle East had come to the European Union via Belarus in the past few months was.
The EU is assuming retaliation by the Belarusian ruler Alexander Lukashenko for sanction decisions by the EU. It is believed that the Belarusian authorities are bringing migrants into the country in a targeted manner and smuggling them to the borders with the eastern EU states.
