He was fascinated by satirical literature, so he went through his first literary experiments, through which the narrator, Dr. Muhammad Amer Al-Mardini, presents narrative texts in a manner that adheres to reality and proceeds from it as a necessity to serve man and his culture.

In an interview with Sana, Al-Mardini said, “Being a satirical writer simply means that you are able to deal with reality in its daily details, exposing its shortcomings and vilifying its flaws in a non-crude or direct manner, and explaining many serious matters and sensitive sensitive issues in a sarcastic manner.”

As for the story, according to Al-Mardini, it is most likely a tale lived, witnessed, heard or imagined by the writer, written in a simple and easy language for the reader, and relies on his contemporary daily vocabulary, away from ambiguity, and is built in a sound manner, with a logical sequence of events, a skillful drawing of the characters, and rebelling against reality in an exaggerated way.

Regarding the difference between writing the satirical story about Al-Jada, Al-Mardini said, “I do not see a difference between the two stories except in the context of the message to be conveyed to the reader, or in the impression it generates for him during reading and after completing it. In the most bitter moments.

The writer himself must have the characteristic of irony, according to Al-Mardini. He may be very talented, but he cannot write in this literature, and the writer must be a good reader of satirical writers present in the literary arena in his country and abroad.

Al-Mardini talks about mechanisms that the satirical writer usually adopts in writing his stories, such as exaggerating matters and exaggerating the presentation, or in mentioning words or phrases with a meaning that contradicts the reality of the situation, such as the use of praise with the intention of satire and slander with the intention of blame or condemnation.

Although Al-Mardini wrote a lot of satirical stories, he wrote sentimental, dramatic, tragic, and comedic stories, and even recently fought in the field of the novel, where he will publish his first production in it soon, but he finds himself in satirical writing more than any other literary genre.

Al-Mardini believes that the story is a very difficult literary art, as it needs a writer who is very skilled in the arts of storytelling so that he can reduce all the components of his psychological characters and emotions through a few pages or even lines, otherwise they will turn into thoughts or prose pieces at most if written by inexperienced hands.

Al-Mardini relied on the role of literature in the next stage, warning of the importance of employing it in the educational process to build the personality of the individual and linking him to the crucial issues of his homeland and nation.

At the conclusion of his speech, Al-Mardini calls for supporting culture in the face of external invasion, especially the new generation, and deepening the sense of patriotism and belonging to confront the tyranny of the impact of globalization and technology, and in particular the impact and role of social media in making our cultural environment.

It is noteworthy that Muhammad Amer Al-Mardini, born in Damascus in 1959, is a writer and doctor of pharmacy.
