MK Miri Regev has been working for the Histadrut in recent days, after she said she was interested in running for Likud chairman and after denying running for the Histadrut chairman.
Regev's entourage confirmed her function: "MK Regev did function for the Histadrut, however, as she said in the past, she will make her political path exclusively within the Likud party. "Together with the Likud movement, it will work to overthrow the dangerous government."
According to them: "MK Regev saw fit to function for the Histadrut in order to strengthen and support the values that the Histadrut represents."
A month ago, in an interview with Gali Tzahal, Regev referred to reports that she intended to run for the Histadrut leadership: "I am not going to be the chairman of the Histadrut. I understand that they are trying to show me the way out of the Likud because I am probably threatening some people."
Also, the Histadrut elections are expected to take place in May 2022 and among the candidates whose names came up were "Former R. Ofer Eini and also the current chairman Arnon Ben David.
Politicians usually do the opposite way from the Histadrut leadership to the national arena. As you may recall, in the past, Haim Ramon, Amir Peretz and Avi Nissenkorn served in the position.
