Jerusalem: Two squads of car thieves arrested Israel today

The Israel Police today (Sunday) completed the investigation of eight suspects in two different incidents of vehicle theft from around the city of Jerusalem on various occasions.

Tomorrow, the prosecution will file indictments against them for their actions.

At the beginning of the month, detectives from the Jerusalem District Central Unit arrested four suspects in their 20s.

The suspects, residents of the east of the city, were caught driving a stolen vehicle south of the city of Jerusalem and another vehicle related to the incident, when one of the suspects was driving without a driver's license at all.

 The IDF investigators were able to link the suspects involved in the incident and other incidents. The suspects were arrested and their detention was extended in court during the period. Yesterday the investigation ended and its materials were handed over to the Israel Police Prosecution Division.

In another incident, detectives from the Jerusalem District Central Unit arrested "al-Ham" four Palestinian suspects, also in their 20s, when two of them fled on foot when they noticed police forces, abandoned the vehicle and were caught after a short chase. Three other suspects were caught driving in two stolen vehicles while chasing them and while hitting a police vehicle on their way. These two vehicles were stolen from the south of the city of Jerusalem. At the end of a professional and quick investigation, the IDF investigators managed to tie the suspects involved in this incident and others. The suspects were arrested on September 8 and their detention was extended in court and as stated on September 17, the investigation ended

Chief Superintendent Yossi Nizri, head of the crime unit spatial Jerusalem, said: "We will continue to act with all the means that Israeli police decisively, and so eradicate thefts of vehicles and arrest suspects events and bringing them to justice.
