In the Wolfratshausen industrial park, entrepreneurs wanted to build a senior citizens' home.
The plan failed due to many shortcomings.
Now they are looking for a new location.
Wolfratshausen - The planners were actually optimistic.
The building committee of the city council, however, closed their thumbs with a view to a development plan change: There will be no senior citizens' home on Geltinger Straße.
And: The procedure of the applicants - a newly founded Wolfratshauser company - caused displeasure in the technical committee.
Wolfratshausen: Senior citizens' home on the industrial park rejected - criticism of planners: "Courageous, but not clever" approach
The building committee should actually decide on a preliminary inquiry before the summer break.
Shortly before the meeting, however, the project company withdrew it - so it was never discussed in public.
Instead, the builders went public and presented the project to our newspaper.
The company wanted to build a senior citizens' home with up to 70 rooms on the area between the Müller dance school and a publishing house on Geltinger Strasse.
“The demand is huge,” says project manager Jakob Rottmann.
He expressed himself optimistically at the time: "The response from politics was positive."

But nothing will come of it.

The assessment of the ambitious project sounded different in the building committee.
The area on Geltinger Straße is a special area for "leisure and recreation".
Residential development like a retirement home is de jure not possible there.
The owners therefore wanted to rededicate the area.
The building committee rejected this unanimously and criticized the approach of the project company.
Retirement home: Planners wanted to create a mood - there is criticism for this
Vice-Mayor Günther Eibl (CSU) could not gain much from the entrepreneurs' plan to “create a public mood through media attention”. "That is brave, but not clever." From a factual and professional point of view, his group will reject the request.
As the city administration emphasized in the meeting's draft, the application contained a number of problems: For example, there were no extended emission limits in the industrial park.
The approval of a "noise-sensitive use as represented by a senior citizen's home will lead to considerable problems under the law".
The height development on the property would contradict the previous approach of the city.
The administration also led the planning of parking spaces, spacing areas and exceeding the floor area.
So there are many reasons that speak against the plan.
Living in the Wolfratshausen industrial park is not allowed - and there are other shortcomings
The evaluation of the expert committee was clear.
Josef Praller, parliamentary group spokesman for the citizens' association, did not see the planned site as suitable for such a project.
"We are happy when more senior citizens' homes are built," he said.
"But not at this point, in this way and with this massiveness."
Hans Schmidt emphasized that he “did not want to reject the basic idea”.
But: "We cannot simply agree to the proposals." Too much would speak against it.
Schmidt suggested postponing the decision and seeking a discussion with the applicants beforehand - possibly even in the committee.
This proposal met with little approval.
Retirement home planners are disappointed and are looking for a new location
The day after the unanimous no, Christoph Marklstorfer, one of the two founders of the project company, spoke to our newspaper.
The duo is “surprised” by the decision and regrets very much “that we have to disappoint the many positive intergenerational voices from the population”.
The two entrepreneurs still consider the property to be “predestined”.
But: "We respect the clear vote," said Marklstorfer.
“We will continue to pursue our heart project in another community.” A new building was planned for Geltinger Strasse.
"We will adhere to the legally binding development plan."
