The Maccabi Tel Aviv Sports Club, together with the association's football, basketball and volleyball club, sent a letter today (Sunday) to Noni Mozes, the controlling owner of Yedioth Ahronoth, the newspaper's editor Neta Livna and the journalist Aviv HaBaron, following a column published recently on the eve of Yom Kippur.
In the column, entitled "It's time my mother says / Everything is ready to feed Maccabi", the Baron wrote about the fan song inspired by Shlomo Mahdon's "The Old Teacher".
"This iron sheep property was probably born from the throats of Hapoel Tel Aviv fans, but was adopted by fans in general, with a common denominator that flows in everyone's blood: hatred of Maccabi Tel Aviv, vitality, power and nationalism connected with super epoxy glue to the yellow color."
