The first electoral committee election after the restructuring of the election was held today (19th). Chief Executive Carrie Lam Zhengyue-e went to Shenzhen yesterday and was received by Vice Premier Han Zheng of the State Council.
Lin Zheng met with reporters before the voting started this morning, saying that Han Zheng is very concerned about the next three elections and hopes that the elections will be held in accordance with the law.
With regard to customs clearance with the Mainland, Lam Zheng said that Han Zheng learned that the Hong Kong government hopes that the two places' epidemic prevention experts can have a match-making meeting, and on the spot instructed relevant Mainland authorities to follow up.
Lin Zheng quoted Han Zheng as referring to the central government’s support for Hong Kong. He also pointed out two major policy areas that support Hong Kong in an international financial center and an innovation and technology center, and called on Hong Kong to cooperate with Shenzhen in the expansion of Qianhai.
I was asked whether being received by Han Zheng on the eve of the election would be beneficial to the race for re-election, and whether he had an answer in his heart for re-election.
Lin Zheng responded that her term of office will end on June 30 next year, during which the central government is concerned about any affairs in Hong Kong. She needs to report, explain and seek support, and hopes that the outside world will not act for personal purposes.
Lin Zheng pointed out that Han Zheng asked relevant mainland authorities on the spot to follow up on the proposal of "matching" the epidemic prevention experts of the two places.

Han Zheng understands the situation of epidemic prevention in Hong Kong
Many Hong Kong people hope to clear customs with the mainland as soon as possible without quarantine. Carrie Lam said that he mentioned to Han Zheng that Hong Kong has been "cleared" for more than a month of local cases, and that he also has strict foreign import prevention measures, and has sufficient testing and quarantine facilities. Hong Kong citizens look forward to resuming customs clearance between the two places as soon as possible.
Lin Zheng said that Han Zheng understood the situation in Hong Kong very well, and received her suggestions, hoping that experts from the two places could "connect".
She said that Han Zheng had asked relevant mainland authorities to follow up on the spot, and the Hong Kong government would make preparations to strive for gradual and orderly customs clearance as soon as possible.
Han Zheng supports Hong Kong's development of an international financial and innovation center
Lin Zheng expressed his gratitude to Han Zheng for mentioning the central government’s support for Hong Kong at the meeting. He pointed out that he mentioned the role of Hong Kong in the 14th Five-Year Plan. Han Zheng pointed out two major policy areas during the meeting, namely, International Financial Center and Innovation and Technology. The center expressed support for Hong Kong’s work in the two major centers.
She added that Han Zheng mentioned the expansion of Qianhai area and pointed out the need to pay attention to the plan to empower Qianhai. Therefore, Hong Kong must cooperate with Shenzhen in Qianhai to make Qianhai more open and try first, such as President Xi Jinping. In other words, rely on Hong Kong, serve the mainland, and face the world.
Lin Zheng said that during the meeting with Han Zheng, he did not mention the issue of re-election.
