The finalists are known.

Yannick Jadot and Sandrine Rousseau will meet in the second round of the environmentalist primary, where they took the lead in the first round this Sunday at the end of the day.

Yannick Jadot obtained 27.70% of the votes and Sandrine Rousseau a total of 25.14%.

These two candidates will compete to obtain the nomination of EELV (Europe Ecology The Greens) in the presidential election of 2022 (April 10 - April 24).

The second round will take place from September 25 to 28.

The other three competitors in the primary finish with 22.32% for Delphine Batho, 22.29% for Eric Piolle and 2.35% for Jean-Marc Governatori.

122,780 people were registered for this first round.

The participation record for an environmentalist primary was until then 32,000 people in 2011. This enlargement of the electorate made any prediction difficult.

Yannick Jadot however left favorite on the starting line in front of the mayor of Grenoble (Isère), Eric Piolle, before the ecofeminist Sandrine Rousseau manages to impose his themes.

Environmentalists have all greeted a primary with peaceful debates, far from the spectacle of division of the years 2010. Environmental activists had defeated the favorites Nicolas Hulot, in 2011, and Cécile Duflot, in 2016.
