Parliamentary elections in Russia continue for the third and final day, to conclude at eight in the evening today, in which 14 political parties will compete, presenting 5,832 candidates to choose 450 deputies in the State Duma for the next five years.

This year's elections were marked by the launch of the remote electronic voting method in seven Russian regions and used by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and about two million voters in general, in addition to the traditional voting method with the attendance of voters to the 96,000 polling stations across Russia and 348 Center in 144 foreign countries and cast their votes there.

And 97 percent of polling stations across Russia were provided with monitoring devices and video cameras that work without interruption to ensure the integrity of the electoral process under the supervision of observers for all participating candidates and parties.

International observers, numbering more than 250, from 55 countries in the world, and representatives of several international organizations, indicate that the elections passed in a democratic and transparent manner without any serious impurities and violations that question their legitimacy and credibility, as alleged by Western sources.

The Central Elections Committee stated that its website was subjected to several electronic attacks from abroad, but the electronic voting system withstood and was not affected by these attacks.

Pending the start of counting the votes and announcing the preliminary results, the poll data indicate that the turnout will range between 40 and 45 percent. It is also likely that the group of major parliamentary parties, consisting of four parties, will win their historic presence in the State Duma over the past ten years, led by the ruling United Russia party. It is followed by the Communist Party, the Liberal Democratic Party and the Just Russia Party. It is also likely that the New Generation Party will be able to cross the barrier of five percent of the actual voter vote to be officially represented in the next parliament along with the four mentioned parties.

A delegation from the People's Assembly headed by Bassem Sudan, the head of the Syrian-Russian Parliamentary Friendship Committee, and the membership of Safwan Qurbi, the deputy head of this committee, is participating in keeping pace with the elections in Russia at the invitation of the Central Elections Committee.
