The FBI assures that the body found in Wyoming "matches the description" of Gabby Petito

"Our condolences to Gabby Petito's family," the FBI spokesperson said at a press conference this Sunday, before explaining that the investigation is still ongoing and that a cause of death has not yet been determined.


The authorities confirmed this Sunday that the body of Gabby Petito was found in the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming where they were looking for her, as confirmed by the FBI in a press conference offered from Wyoming.

Investigators said the cause of Petito's death has not been identified and the investigation is still active so the park will remain closed to avoid contamination of the scene. 

The FBI sent its condolences to the Petito family and invited the community to provide any information about the van in which she was traveling with her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, on the dates of August 27-30.

 In July, the couple started from Long Island, New York, a road tour through the country's national parks documenting their journey on Instagram and YouTube with the hashtag #VanLife.

Petito's parents had reported the disappearance of the young woman on Saturday, September 11, to the Suffolk County Police, in New York, after Laundrie drove the vehicle alone back to her parents' house in North Port, Florida, On September 1.
