22-year-old girl and her young son
were seriously injured after being
set on fire
in their house in the Buenos Aires town of Rafael Castillo: the courts are investigating whether they were attacked by an
ex-partner of the woman's current boyfriend
.
The boyfriend of the attacked young woman was detained preventively while different measures are taken to try to clarify how the attack occurred and
the main suspect
is being
searched.
The attack occurred on Saturday night, in a house located on Calle Sudamérica at 2100 in the district of La Matanza, where the victims live, identified as Laura Delgadillo (22) and her one-and-a-half-year-old son.
Police sources informed Télam that the young woman entered Isidro Casanova's Paroissien hospital with a
large percentage
of her body burned.
Meanwhile, the baby was transferred to the San Justo hospital, also with serious burns on his body.
The story of the groom
The woman's 20-year-old boyfriend explained that hours before the attack he had left with Delgadillo and then left her at home.
At that time, according to the boy, his 22-year-old ex-girlfriend approached the scene, apparently
spraying the victims with flammable liquid
and setting them on fire.
In his story, Delgadillo's boyfriend assured that he himself was in charge of transporting his partner and the baby to the hospital, while the suspect fled the place.
In turn, the young man indicated that the attack occurred in an
alleged attack of jealousy
of his ex-partner towards who his current girlfriend is.
The prosecutor Luis Brogna, from the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 3 specialized in Family and Conflict in La Matanza, ordered the preventive detention of Delgadillo's boyfriend and began proceedings for
